ACTS OF THE APOSTLES - The fifth book of the New Testament written by St. Luke, the author of the Third Gospel. It traces the early history of the Christian Church from the Ascension of our Lord to St. Paul's first visit to Rome. The 'Epistle' is read from the ACTS OF THE APOSTLES during the services of Divine Liturgy from Easter to Pentecost.

The Sayings of the Fathers

Abba James also said, 'We do not need words only, for, at the present time, there are many words among men, but we need works, for this is what is required, not words which do not bear fruit.'
